Hi, I’m Apolonia — a mother, storyteller, and the author of "The Words Will Come."

With a background in public service and degrees in psychology and criminal justice, I’ve always been drawn to work that supports families and strengthens community. But more than anything, I am a mother. And this book was born from that experience — from learning to listen, to wait, and to celebrate every step my son made in his own time.

Like many parents, I had questions, worries, and moments of doubt. But I also had this deep, quiet knowing that my child was full of thoughts, ideas, and feelings, even when the words didn’t come right away. That knowing became the heart of this story.

*The Words Will Come* isn’t clinical. It doesn’t offer timelines or diagnoses. It’s simply a story — one that honors children who speak in different ways and the people who love them.
